Black Rhino Wheels Supports StopRhinoPoaching.com

Black Rhino Wheels was borne of a South African heritage, and is named after the tough and mighty Black Rhino, an icon of the African bush. Black Rhino Wheels is passionate about supporting conservation efforts that will help to protect the Rhino from extinction. Black Rhino Wheels has donated over $80,000 to rhino conservation efforts so far. We have formed a new partnership with StopRhinoPoaching.com and we donate a portion of our sales to them every quarter. You can find out more about their important and effective work here.

Why is there a crisis? In just a decade, more than 8,245 African rhinos have been lost to poaching. That’s 30% of the rhino population. In South Africa alone, the number of rhinos killed for their horn has increased almost 9000% since 2007 and poaching for their horns is the biggest threat to the rhino’s survival. So the need to protect this precious population is critical. At the current rate of poaching, an average of 1,000 rhinos are poached every year and with a population of only 4,000 black rhinos and 20,000 white rhinos left in the wild, the situation is dire and rhinos could become extinct in the wild by 2026.

StopRhinoPoaching.com is a highly regarded and effective non-profit organization operating out of South Africa. They have a national footprint for strategic funding of security initiatives and are actively involved in training and supporting the rangers on the frontlines. The rangers are key to making a difference and effectively determine whether a rhino will be poached or not. Our donations have helped the ranger teams with their anti-poaching and monitoring activities, and have enhanced their capacity to respond to poaching incidents.

Black Rhino Wheels partners with StopRhinoPoaching.com to support endangered rhinos in Africa by donating a portion of sales of every one of Black Rhino truck wheels that are sold. “Black Rhino Wheels is passionate about helping to protect these majestic animals from the horrors of Rhino poaching,” says Terence Scheckter, President of Black Rhino Wheels.

Rangers work tirelessly in the field to set up and maintain anti-poaching operations. We received a letter from one of the rangers in Hluhluwe National Park, an area that Black Rhino Wheels has previously supported. Read article here.
